Is Banned African catfish!
African catfish are very popular in states like
Tamil Nadu and Kerala. But these were banned in India in 2013. The zoological
name of the African catfish is "Clarias gariepinus". This type of
fish is called "Aliens".
These mix with local water bodies and spread into
rivers and ponds and kill the local fish species that are present in our state.
This type of African catfish is known to kill and kill other fish.
Unless more fish are available, algae-like plants
can survive and become carnivorous and omnivorous. Many times, they cannibalism
by hunting down their own species. Similarly, fish that kill other fish and
their species are not in our waters.
Next, the catfish lay four million eggs a season.
But the catfish in our water bodies only lay 7000 to 15000 eggs. African
catfishes are able to grow even in the mud at low depths. Even water that is
low in oxygen can survive for several days. Even in the dry land, the air
remains viable. It has the ability to live in the sewer.
Because of this many unusual phenomena, it
naturally kills other types of fish and only grows and invades our water
bodies. This type of fish is found in the Vandiperiyar Dam which is presently
bordering Kerala-Tamil Nadu.
This will wipe out the fish in our aquifers and
completely eradicate the availability of fish in our local waters in a few
years. On the one hand, these types of fishes are capable of storing metals in
water.
These types of fishes are used as test animals to
detect contamination by water metals. We are aware of the pollution of water
bodies in our country in general. It is also known that various industrial
wastes are mixed in them. These types of metals, such as lead, aluminum and
iron, are extremely dangerous in African catfish.
We eat these foods with blood, which increases the
risk of cancer/body disorders. If you find patients with high levels of metals
in the blood, ask them to eat this type of fish. These kinds of risks are the
reason why this type of African catfish grows fast and sells for good prices.
Fishermen must realize that this is wrong.
In addition, selling and buying these types of
fish can be a catalyst for our health. The record shows that this type of fish
is only available in one place and that it is best eaten in a protein-based
manner, eliminating the majority of the metals present in it.
It is best to avoid African catfish. It is best to
avoid these types of fish sellers, buyers and eaters as they feed on other
local fish and our instincts. It is best for the government and the government
to ban the fish.
